Armed Forces Day 2021

Armed Forces Day 2021

Armed Forces Day 2021 150 150 Jan O'Mahoney

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the Armed Forces, we are proud to celebrate Armed Forces Day (formerly Veteran’s Day) today, 26th June 2021.

Today we celebrate our Armed Forces and say ‘Thank You’ to our 135,000+ serving personnel, their families, reservists, veterans, and cadets for their commitment in defending the United Kingdom, our overseas territories and Crown dependencies, and for supporting international peacekeeping efforts and providing humanitarian aid for those most in need.

Currently serving in 80 countries around the world, in environments they are trained for, our Armed Forces have faced a new frontline battle in the past 15 months in the form of COVID-19! Personnel from all three services have paid a pivotal role in; logistics, community testing, setting-up test and vaccination centres, forming Vaccination Quick Reaction Force healthcare teams, and delivering thousands of vaccinations to remote islands.

Whilst national events have been cancelled due to the pandemic, Armed Forces communities will be holding local, COVID safe, events. Please follow this link for more information
